ABOUT SCHUMER DENTAL:
Hello, my
name is Dr. Corey Schumer. I come from the Midwest and grew up in the city of
Farmington Hills Michigan. I am an avid golfer and dedicated family man. I
moved my family to Tucson in April 2010, and fell in love with the city mostly
because of the people I have met. Since arriving in Tucson my wife Jennifer,
and daughter Kayla, have developed friends and I have created a great network
of health care providers to facilitate the best possible care for my patients.
I attended
Wayne State University and achieved Pre-Bachelors acceptance to University of
Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. This allowed me to finish school in fewer
years than normal, and start providing quality services to my community. While
working in Detroit, I was able to treat an under privileged and poor community,
while enhancing my skills with very difficult and medically compromised
patients.
I come from
a family of dental professionals. My father is a General family and cosmetic
dentistry in Michigan and my brother is a general dentist in New York. Growing
up I had the privilege to watch my father provide dentistry to his patients,
and the joy and comfort he brought them. This is what inspired me to enter the
dental profession, making people smile.
I have many
goals I would like to accomplish while being your dentist tucson. My main goal is to
provide quality dental care in a relaxed and inviting environment. I want to
educate you, my patient, and make sure you understand why treatment is
recommended and when it is recommended. I strive to set myself apart from other
dentists in communication and comfort of my patients. Many people do not know
that dentistry has evolved from restorative (fixing after something breaks), to
preventative (providing dentistry in a preventative nature attempting to avoid
future problems). I want to educate you about dentistry in ways you may not
have experienced in the past, and work as a team to provide you with knowledge
to achieve a healthy mouth.
Initial Visit
The initial
visit consist of establishing the patient in our office computer, confirming
insurance if applicable, taking and examining radiographs needed for proper
treatment planning.
A complete
exam consists of radiograph review, complete intra-oral and extra-oral
examination which includes an oral cancer screening, a periodontal (gum)
examination and a treatment plan. Most definitive treatment will need a
treatment plan after a complete exam. Please contact the office for further
examination.
A limited
(emergency) examination is completed for a focused problem only. More than one
focused problem will need a complete examination. During a limited examination
we will try to treat or at least resolve the symptoms/problems if time does not
allow for complete treatment. This also may result in a referral to a
specialist depending on the problem/emergency. Please contact the office for

Cleanings/prophylaxis/periodontal
therapy will be completed after a complete examination and are scheduled on
subsequent days after the complete exam is done because of the need for
